My husband and I are newbies to REI. We are looking into a property and want to get a title search done. We've only worked with one title and escrow company, but wondered if anyone in the Omaha, NE area could refer us to someone good.

There is a property that has been sitting empty. It seems that the previous owner (now deceased) has done what he could to keep anyone from purchasing it after he was gone. We have researched it as in depth as we think we can go. However, we have come to the conclusion that it is a bank owned property that is sitting, just deteriorating. We would like to know if there is a way to go about obtaining it or even getting anyone to talk to us more in depth about it.

My husband and I are newbies to REI also. We are currently seeking to flip properties as our first move. Based on our education, that seems to be the place to start. Then, hopefully move into buy and hold properties for rent.

That second option seems like a great first to us. Good luck with whatever you choose though.

I like it. Useful feature. We will be utilizing it.

We're looking at attending an REI association in our area. On their website, they said to bring business cards to help network. We thought that was a good way of getting our information out there while also looking professional. I'm reading from different sources that a website is good to have on your business cards...anyone have a good (free) website source for REI?

Thank you, Gilbert Dominguez. Your response was very helpful. Can I ask one more question...what is quote function?

Hey Travis Boyer! Thanks for the response. I'm getting the same information on contractors from most of my other sources as well. My husband and I plan on attending some REIA meetings in the future to learn more about this and other subjects pertaining to REI. We already joined REIA's meetup.com group. I believe their FB is down for now. Thanks for the advice.

So, it's similar to the "Like" function on FB? I think I understand the voting option now. Thanks Marius G.

What does it mean to "Vote" on a member's post? What is the difference between following a member and sending a colleague request?
