@Ray Reed called the DCA office in Trenton and the house has no violation, but it was never registered. It’s my first time buying a home and want to house hack with this 3 family because numbers make sense. But what do you think is the worst case scenario in cost if I have to get it to code to register it with DCA.

@Ray Reed Supposedly the house is a legal 3 family has all utilities separate. The price they are selling it to me I get everyone telling me that it’s a good price for this market. The attorney doesn’t recommend me going for it because it might have violations. Is there a way to check before I go through? And are there any penalties for failing to register the home?

The green card is an inspection they do to homes, hotels, motels with multiple dwellings (3 units or more) to make sure everything is up to code in case of fire. But this owner never registered the property and has never done the inspection.

I’m about to go into contract with a 3 family home that owner failed to register and get a green card. The owner is giving me a 2500 credit to cover registration and anything to get it up to code. Should I go through?
