Hi BiggerPockets,

I've been using a hand made Google Sheet to analyze properties. Would love to get your thoughts on anything I should add/subtract!

Thanks for your help!

Question for you Realtors out there: If a Financial Planner approached you offering to run a financial plan for any of your clients (currently in the process of buying or sellIng a home) would you be interested? In your opinion, would this enhance your client’s experience? If you have objection to such an agreement, what is your objection? For full disclosure, I’m a financial planner looking to serve real estate professionals - the idea above is something I recently thought of and would love your constructive feedback.

Howdy Fort Worth Natives!

I am new to Fort Worth and am looking to get connected with realtors/real estate investors in the area. If you or anybody you know works/has interest in real estate, I would love to reach out and connect.

My background: I recently graduated from Texas A&M University with my degree in finance and real estate, I work in investment management in downtown, and I am looking to invest some capital in real estate to diversify out of my equity holdings.

Thanks and Gig'em,

Jacob D. Mallison

Post: As a realtor, how do you approach Retirement and Tax Planning?

I see a common trend among realtor's:

  1. Real Estate brokerages do not offer 401(k)/IRA programs, thus the responsibility of retirement planning falls entirely upon the realtor.
  2. Unlike more traditional employers, realtor's do not have the luxury of receiving their salary/commission tax-withheld.

With that said, I have a few questions:

  • As a realtor, how do you currently go about your tax and retirement planning?
  • How could a financial advisor provide benefit to your life and business?
  • If a financial advisor approached you, what type of skills/products would convince you to take a meeting?

Thank you for your input! I am trying to get a better understanding of the industry.

Good mornin' folks,

I am currently a financial planner in the DFW area researching the financial needs of real estate professionals. Below are some of my questions:

  • As a real estate professional, how could an a financial planner best serve you personally?
  • How could a financial planner serve your business?
  • Have you heard of/been apart of any successful referral agreement(s) with a financial planner?
  • What would be the best way to get in front of successful real estate professionals? Below is what I've gathered from my research thus far:

Before reaching out to professionals in my area, I want to ensure that I am the best person to fit their needs. Thank you in advance for your thoughts!
