Hello, what do you think.... analysis paralysis or a good plan? About me: Married, wife and I both military nurses. About to go to Korea for a year then unsure which state coming back to..... we are hoping San Antonio, TX. We are just starting out < 3 months of research/reading. Finished reading Brandon turners book on rental property investing, listening to a handful of podcasts, and gathering more and more information. ***PLAN*** Our plan is to continue reading books and researching and practicing analyzing deals over the next year while we are gone until we get back into the states and know which market to focus on. Should we stick with this plan or just pick a market and do long term investing to start out? Any tips/books are much appreciated. We plan to read a few more books from BP next. Only have read rich Dad poor Dad and “the book on rental property investing” by Brandon turner.

@Allan Bishop Jr. Hey Allan. Yes bamc. We are hoping to start around San Antonio if that’s where we come back to after a quick Korea assignment. We are thinking of waiting and gathering as much info as possible over the next year so we can be near our first investment. I would hate to do our first one long distance and get turned off altogether because of one experience if it’s bad. Maybe it’s a mindset thing but having a local first investment I feel like it will be easier to put more time into and get more comfortable to pursue our next then next and so on. Thoughts?

** still practicing analyzing properties in general **. The most difficult part of this was figuring out how much it is renting for in the area. I tried using rentometer and craigslist and i am guessing the rental amount. constructive criticism is much appreciated and your rationale. Would you consider this? Yes/no and why?

@Mike Dymski do you have any resources for new investors getting started about mobile home parks? Is it even a good idea to start with one vs a SFH? I hear people talking about investing in them but the information about them isn’t as readily available as SFH/Multi

I am new to the real estate game. We are learning so much from the community and want to jump into getting a rental but....... We are schedule to move to Korea for one year then come back to the states late 2019/early 2020. 1) current plan is to hold off until we know which state we will be moving back to ( probably San Antonio, TX ). We plan to continue educating ourself while overseas and practice analyzing deals from a distance. 2) there is also all this talk about the market (stock/real estate) correcting late 2019/2020. Should we wait till we get back state side around this time frame to get started?

Hello BP, My name is Jake. My wife and I are both nurses and we have started our journey toward FI. We have learned so much about real estate from Brandon Turner’s book and listening to all the podcasts offered here at BP. We are excited to start our real estate adventure and look forward to learning and networking here on BP.
