Hello BP, I am interested in becoming a Real Estate Agent. Right now, I would be doing it right after my current job which is the U.S Navy. I want to get my feet in the water and learn as much as I can and use my Navy Benefits to my advantage. Is there any advice I can get? Any San Diego Real Estate Agents out there willing to help? Thank you all.

Hello BP! I am currently in the U.S. Navy stationed in San Diego California. I am currently in an apartment with 11 more months on my lease. I will be in SD for at least 5 more years and I am real interested in REI. Would becoming a Real Estate Agent after my normal work day to learn the game be a good move? And if so, does anyone know the best way to go about doing that? I am 22 years old and if I start now I believe I can have a great Real Estate Empire built down the road. Thank you for reading.

How much money do  you advise to have before starting up?

Thank you BP!

@Aaron B. Lewis, @Eric Upchurch, @Lear R.

Hello,

I am glad that I came across the post. I am currently AD and I transfer in one year. My goal is to soak up all the knowledge I can in this year and have a set plan to get my foot into the door of REI once I transfer. Ive been looking into the Duplex up to a fourplex, living in part of it and renting out the rest.

Ive been getting mixed reviews about this but it seems that those who have actually done it have done it successfully with the VA Loan.

Any advice on this?

@Amanda G. , I transfer duty stations in one year. In this year I want to soak up as much knowledge and information that I can and have a set plan to put into action once I transfer. My main goal is to get my foot in the door of REI. I am eager to learn, maybe too eager, in which I am trying to learn everything at once when I think I should be focusing on one strategy.

@Daniel Winsor Hey thanks for that advice. I transfer in a year and that's when im going to jump into REI. I am trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can and have a set plan so when I do transfer all I have to do is put it into action.

@Ron Flatt

No Problem, just doing my part.

Thank you for the Great advice. Ive been looking into getting a duplex up to a fourplex and renting what I am not living in out. That is most likely going to be my first move and will get me into the door of Real Estate.

After that I am undecided about where to go with it. I like the whole Fix it and Flip it idea. Is that a smart move as a first time investor?
