Post: Save to invest, or get out of debt?

Hi Everyone,

I am currently saving with the mind frame of doing a flip to finance a buy and hold and pay off my debt and then continue on with flips and buy and holds after my debt is paid.

But..

In a recent personal finance audio book I have been listening to (The total money makeover) it is suggested that the first step is to get out of debt. I currently have approximately £12,000 ($18,421) in debt and will take me a while to get rid of this....i want to start investing now!!

Can someone please advise what they think would be the wisest thing to do?

Thanks

I was just wondering if somebody could explain to me how I can evaluate how the market is doing? Or which part of the cycle the market is in? I am new to real estate and have been learning the basics of buy and hold and flipping, everybody where I live (England) is telling me that now is the best time to buy a house because of the market but I want to be able to determine this myself. Can anyone help me or direct me to a post that deals with this? Maybe explaining the pros and cons of each stage of the market? Thank you

I have read through the Beginners guide and found it very helpful but think i might have to get your book on how to invest with low/no money down because generating the capital to start trading is going to be the hardest part for me I think. I don't really like the idea of wholesaling so i think a hard money lender might be my only option for now.

I was considering doing a live-in-flip but I think as I currently still live with my parents that the holding costs would outweigh the benefits.

Thank you for your advice and will continue to learn and update everyone on my progress!

Hi Everyone!

I am from the the UK looking to start investing in real estate soon. I am currently working full time and saving to fund my first flip and get on the track to building weath!

My plan is to use a combination of House flipping and Buy + Hold investments to build a steady cashflow and enough passive income to invest full time.

I would like any advice that anyone can give! and any warnings for potential pitfalls i may come into from my first flip.

Thank you!

Jack
