Hello @Patrick Howe

My apologies if this ruins your post but I'm new to the site and I don't see the way to send you a direct message. I'm interested in doing exactly what you did. Buy a 2-3 flat with Va loan and little money down. The properties I'm interested in are only in the $100k range and will need some rehabbing though. Can you give me any insight on the process you went through? Is rehab possible with Va loan? Any info is greatly appreciated! Also what does the term "house hack" mean? Lol

@Mark Ainley Thank you for your input! Getting involved with a partner definitely seems like a smart move for me.

@Nick Patterson thanks for directing me to the podcast! I'm sure they are very informative. Yes, reading reading and more reading is a huge part of all of this! I will look into Chicago Real Estate School, I appreciate the recommendation.

Hello All

I am a young man who has yet to purchase a piece of property. I would like to take in as much info as I can to learn about real estate before I take that step. They say the best way to learn about RE is through experience but I don't want to dive into blindly so that is what brings me to BP. I am interested in but not limited to everything involving...

Realtor classes in my area Mls

1st time home buyer perks

203k, HELOC

Ways to attain money other than traditional lending

Ups and downs of auctions, tax sales, bank owned reo

Buy and hold, rehab, 2 flat rental

If you have ever told yourself, "if I knew then what I know now I would do things this way"... I'm looking for your insight. I am a beginner, so if you could go back a do it all over again what would you do?
