Thank you for all the responses, they are appreciated.

@Kelly Smith

@Kelly Smith- Time really isn't a big worry of mine once I step back and think about it. I am just a little eager to get started.

@Hattie Dizmond

Thank you for your response. You are correct, I have found a property that is listed as a short sale. That is good to know that it shouldn't take an absurd amount of time to hear back from the bank.

Another question, is the time frame for closing on a short sale similar to that on a none short sale/foreclosed closing?

Hello all!

I have done a search on here for short sales and it seems that they can be pretty time consuming when it comes to negotiating and getting to closing. I am looking for my first house to flip in the DFW area and have come across a short sale that has caught my attention.

So my question is to those of you that have experience (good or bad) with short sales, if the numbers look to work, would you go ahead and pursue or is a waste of time?

Also, I would appreciate it if some of you could share your experiences with dealing with short sales.

Thanks,

Jeremy

I live in Bedford Texas which is right in the middle of Fort Worth/Dallas and I am looking for my first house to flip. I know that the market in DFW is pretty hot right now with a < 2 month inventory.

My question is where are y'all finding houses that are deals? MLS, FSBO, networking, foreclosures, etc?

I apperciate the feed back ahead of time! I am excited about getting my feet wet in this investing game!

Thanks,

Jeremy

Thanks for the replies!

I have been listening to the podcasts none stop since I found out about them. Some really good stuff! Since listening to them, I have decided start with the flipping route first. I am excited to continue reaching here on the forums! Any advice is welcome!

Hello Y'all,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to forum and recently became serious about investing in real estate.  I leave in the DFW area and work in the oil field and really enjoy what I do. My mom has flipped a couple of houses and my brother recently flipped his first house.

I have always wanted to have rent houses/flip but have never until recently had the money to consider doing so. I keep going back and forth on wanting to rent and hold or flip. I look forward to learning from all of you!
