Anyone have experience in building instead of buying for your first investment property. I have not been able invest yet and am just seeing if anyone has built instead of buy for your first property. I am in a situation where I know a lot of people involved in building (drywall, electric, HVAC, etc) where I would get work done for cheaper than market rate.

This is just a thought and any feedback would be appreciated.

Great questions! I am in a similar vote to you as well. Where I am starting out at is figuring out the area you want to invest in. Ideally, you would start in the area you know best. After that start picking the brains of people in the area and that should lead you to find out information like best lenders, agents, etc.. Investing where you know best should be a good start in your REI journey.
