Is it a good idea to use a heloc to fund a down payment for my first rental property.

I made a post a few months ago asking for advice on how to fund my first rental. Since then I have refinanced my personal mortgage to a conventional loan instead of an FHA loan. Now that I have a conventional loan I can use more equity from my house for a down payment on a rental is this a smart way to start off. Any advice?

Would you guys be so kind to talk about how you got you’re first rental property. Maybe talk about some of the things you learned in the process.

I am wanting to become a real estate investor. I want to own rental properties. After doing a lot of reading I’ve started to save 20 percent for my down payment and keeping my credit in good standing. I am looking for advice on what else I would need to do before purchasing a property.
