Waiting for some advise here, My plan is to buy with cash my first property a two family , I will rehab it , then I will live in one unit and rent the other. Taking that and going to a bank what are the processes in securing a first mortgage on that property, so as I can use that to purchase and rehab property #2. Is this the way most investors do this or is there a different means.

Hopefully I am on the right road , I have located an area that I will be investing in , I will be buying a property for cash and doing extensive rehab work to it. It is a two family . My plan is to go to a bank when I have a tenant and seek a 1st mortgage and then use that money to buy my second property and so on so forth , Is this a correct scenario or am I being too simplistic?

Hi I am looking at Skaneateles new york as an area to start investing. I am currently in the middle of a divorce here in NJ and will have about $100,000 cash at some point. I am interested in buying properties that need work , doing the work and then reselling at a profit. Is anyone here involved in these types of deals and possibly in the greater syracuse area?
