I am a Realtor in the Miami, Florida area who has been interested in Detroit for some time now and felt it was necessary to come and see for myself.   I also have investors that are interested in starting to invest in the area so I would like to connect with local experts in regards to sourcing properties  for buy and hold as well as rehabbing.  I will be in Detroit September 11-13 and I am looking to connect with investors/Agents/property managers  with  knowledge of the local  markets.   Also I am open to suggestions for a venue for  networking event while I am there.

Thanks  @John Thedford    and @Polar Prutaseranee   for the great feedback.    Seems that like many other markets the opportunity is there but having the right knowledge of and also the right alliances in the area are keys to success.

Thanks @Elena Sweeney and @John Thedford   for the feedback.   I am mostly interested in wholesaling properties that I would be buying at tax deed sale.  I am interested to know are investors buying from wholesalers  and also how long are properties staying on the market in the retail arena?

Elena I am definitely interested in connecting with agents in the area as well.

I am an an agent/ investor in Miami/South Florida and I  have been researching the tax deed sales in the Lee county area.  I see quite a lot of potential for investment opportunity and I am starting to plant the seed with some of my investors that are looking for better options than what they are seeing here in Miami/S. Florida where there acquisition costs are high and returns are low.   I am looking to connect with agents/investors that are knowledgeable of the auction/ tax deed process in Fort myers/ Lee County. I do see the opportunity for my clients to increase the returns that they are currently seeing here in Miami with a fraction of the risk and acquisition costs are considerably less.   Can anyone shed some light on what the market in the Lee county area is like for investors who are liquid and have  cash to invest.   Any insight is greatly appreciated.   We would be looking to buy at auction and rehab/ and or flip these properties.
