Fast forward a few years, can someone touch-up on this topic, please?

I read often that the MLS is usually more up to date. Are there other glaring benefits that just are not available from sites like Redfin, Zillow, and others? For example is there more information about owners, vs occupants? One podcast described someone using the MLS for quickly finding cash sales in an area, this could be useful information which I do not see being available on sites like Redfin and Zillows sold information. Are there other benefits some of the experienced REI folks can list?

Im curious what kind of hits you get, always looking for posts for our area and see next to nothing, my assumption is our area is tough/not profitable.
