Hi BiggerPockets Members!

My name is Ian and I am new to the site and wanted to introduce myself to everyone. Now I am not going to tell stories about anything I have done or chat myself up, because there is nothing to chat up about. I do not need to look like a big shot and I do not need to try to be someone I am not in real estate.

I am  new to real estate investing, but I have been around it for the last 12 years of my career in some form or another. So when it comes to real estate I have always wanted to do it and now is the time. Most will ask why is now the time to do it and that is a wicked good question. We all have our reasons and mine is because of my wife. She is my number one supporter in everything I do and lately I have embraced the red to recognized that she is in need of change. I guess sometimes you wake up and realize you could be doing more for your family. Now I am not saying I do not earn for my family I am just saying I could be doing more. Earning six figures at my day job does not do it for me anymore because I am burnt out from solving everyone else's issues. I am not running to leave my job of course until I can make real estate work for me but I am ready to be that person I once was when I graduated college; my own boss creating my own drive. My current job allows me to do the things we love and helps create the adventures we go on, but it has that feeling that it could be taken away at any moment and I have seen it done. When you treat people like objects they do not tend to stick around, when you treat people like people they become more then just people they become family and friends. That is what life feels like now that I am an object at work even with the people I meet. My wife feels it even more in her career, I can not say where but that is how she feels that is why change is necessary.

What I am saying is one day you will wake up and realize I could have done more and why solve other people's problems when you could be solving for yourself. My current career has me in the all areas of real estate, Fix and flip, Multi-family, Single Family, New construction and the occasional rental properties dealing with all the people who own, run, or make the decisions in regards to those segments. If you made this far I must have caught your attention or your really bored probably really bored!

My question to the group is this: What can I do for you? I may not have those skills in real estate that you all have but I have motivation, desire, and integrity that drive me to learn and that is how I will get my start. How can I network to show some value to this group? When I ran my first business a long time ago it was networking that I failed at. It was me versus the world, and the mentality stunted my growth. Now that I have been in Corporate America in the construction industry networking has allowed me to grow my network across the country in what I do. So now I will embrace the red regarding my past and move forward to give my family that freedom so we can get back on track to living the life we once did. Thank you for your time and I hope we all can talk soon stay safe!

Regards
Ian
