Thanks guys for the warm welcome!  Just bought my tickets back to the states and will be back January 20th... so after a few days of jet lag relief I'll likely be touching base with y'all.

Hey all,

Figured I should make an intro post. Sitting in the Gold Coast of Australia working out the terms of the split from my wife who will be staying here while I head back to Dallas.  Been in Dallas on and off since elementary school in the 80's so I can safely call that 'home.'

Primary income is as a contract pilot which means I have several days away from the area, and then several days doing nothing in the area - looking forward to use the time to learn about RE Investing.

New to the Real Estate thing since I was burned by a bad home buy a few years ago in a prior career in the rust belt.  Love the idea of investing in this rather than gambling in the stock market.  No idea how to start in the Dallas market though; so looking for people I can bounce some ideas and questions off of who are familiar with the craziness that is the Dallas market.

Again, Hello All!
