Hey Samuel Eastling thanks for your insight! I am unfamiliar with the leasing options you mentioned. Do they have names I can search here on the forum & online? Making my money work for me sounds like something I need to know about haha

Hello Everyone!,

I want to start my real estate career and I'm not too sure where to begin. I'm in Minnesota and I've been browsing homes for sale on realtor.com, zillow & trulia. From what I gathered so far in my learning, if I want to flip a home I should look for something relatively low. I search for homes in the $60,000-$150,000 range but seem to mostly find condos/townhomes and apartments.

If you were me & had $10,000 to start with, would you go the buy/hold route with rental units? Or would you open the range a bit, find a house and go for the flips?

Any advice or links to good articles would be appreciated!

Sorry if this isn't the correct place to post, but I have been reading lots of posts & watching some videos on YouTube and I really want to take a crack at real estate. The forum is full of knowledgable people, but I am wondering if anyone is in Minnesota that I'd be able to reach out to and learn from My interest is in flipping as well as rental properties. I'm currently working 75hrs a week so I can fund my first venture. My ambition & work ethic is here, I'm just looking for some guidance. Even those out of state willing to chat via email or something, that would be awesome as well

Hi everyone! They call me Hush because I'm all about action/execution. I'm not one to say what I want to do without any plan behind it. I've always heard of people making livings from real estate and for some reason, I never looked into it until now. I'm extremely interested in having rental properties & flipping homes but I'm in the learning stage at the moment. It's only been about a week and I've been directed by some people I've messaged on Instagram to check this place out. In the newbie section alone, I've spotted at least 3 people from Minnesota so I have high hopes that Bigger Pockets will be a useful tool in taking me from interested to flipping my first house or getting my first duplex later this year!
