What are some core values in your opinion that you believe investors possess, especially early in their career?

@Mike Waller Thank you so much for your advice Mr. Waller it’s greatly appreciated and feel free if you have time to go more in depth. The last thing I want to do is piss someone off who is trying to help me so knowing what not to do would be really beneficial. Even if it’s coming from a place of just not knowing proper etiquette I’d rather keep that to a minimum.

@Mike Waller as a contractor what are some things that you see in young real estate investors that you hate? Since I don’t have any experience yet I want to build good habits and thus have a better chance at building great relationships with contractors because I understand that’s an important factor in being a great real estate investor.

@Samantha Miller Thats awesome to hear I’m glad that the property value has gone up especially in a time like this. Have you seen a decrease in interested buyers since the covid breakout and do you see a potential market dip within the next few months? But yeah that helps so much thank you. I wasn’t sure if there was a magical number of properties to own before looking for a property manager but I guess it just depends on the person and how much they can handle while still having a full time career!

@Jon Hill Thank you Mr. Hill will definitely be putting that on my to do list during this quarantine. I do have a question though. When was your first bad deal that you’ve taken? And if you haven’t had a bad deal what was your worst deal out of your experience and how did you handle that situation?

@Samantha Miller Thank you for the advice! When you were first starting out did you still self manage that first apartment after you finished grad school or did you leave it with someone else to look after it and handle the day to day stuff right after you moved?

Hello everyone! My name is Hunter Cone and I’m a 21 year old junior at USC in Columbia, SC. I’m an exercise science major and I plan on joining the Air Force after I graduate. I have a huge motivation to becoming financially independent and have done some research and found that real estate is a great opportunity for such a thing. As of right now I am saving up money and learning as much as I can about residential real estate as that is the kind of real estate that I would like to invest in. I’ve read a few books such as “Rental Property Investing” by Brandon Turner and “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” but wanted to know some other books and or podcasts that really delve into the specifics of investing to look into. I also wanted to know if they are any current military personnel or veterans who have any tips with rental properties and how they manage properties while moving every couple of years. Sorry for the long introduction!
