 Hi @Nick Sparrow!

My mother-in-law lives in Vernal down the street from another pharmacist, (actually in Maeser). I was just out there two weeks ago. I'm out there fairly often.  I'd be happy to visit with you anytime. I imagine with the oil companies doing some layoffs, you'll see a fair number of deals out there currently. If you want a second opinion on any of the numbers of any deals you come across, I'm happy to share my thoughts with you.

Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Rob

My thoughts exactly.  I think there are going to be a bunch of good deals coming up, but I need to make sure I don't get a deal that I can do anything with until gas prices go back up.  I don't want a liability on my balance sheet. I would love to chat with you.  I do't have much to bring to the table, but I will say that I'm really good at Excel and analyzing numbers, and I will have some income to invest with (enough for about 1 deal a year at this point, but I realize that could accelerate).

Nick

Are you referring to a solo 401k? I currently have a roth, but I'm not sure how I would use it to invest in real estate except though a REIT which isn't quite the avenue I want to take. I've considered taking it out and putting it into a solo 401k (roth like) to get some tax free growth.

I'm a bit removed from SLC, but if I'm every in town I'll have to seek you out.  Might I ask what kind of real estate investing you do?  I'm still trying to figure out what avenue I want to take.

I'm not even sure what AMAP is, but I'm trying to figure out what avenue I want to take with real estate. I should have some cash available shortly, but I'm not quite ready yet to jump in.  Keeping in touch would be a great thing.

I'm a 34 y/o pharmacist by trade, but in looking forward to the future, I'm realizing that the traditional 401k or IRA is a terrible way to position myself to be financially free. I'm one who loves helping others, but if I'm not financially free, my ability to help others will be greatly diminished. The research I've done so far has led me to real estate, and I'm ready to dive in and get to it. I'm looking to gather knowledge and experience, and if there is a seasoned investor out there looking for someone to mentor, I would love to talk to you as I think having a mentor is crucial. I love BiggerPockets.com so far and look forward to being part of the community.
