Thank you both, I'm looking forward to learning.

Hello everyone, my name is Ben Krieger and I came across the forums here after stumbling across a blog post and eventually subscribing to the podcast. I decided to take the leap and finally jump into the forums to take advantage of the huge amount of knowledge this community has to offer.

I currently have no experience in real estate beyond renting, but after doing some research I feel that with my current financial and personal life situation, House Hacking would be a great way to begin in real estate investing. With no debt, my first well paying steady job out of college, and a recent marriage I believe that I'm in a great position to get started.

My plan is to have bought my first house hack within the next year. I have put myself in a strong financial position and want to take some time to learn what I can from this site and other sources as I wait for a good deal. My wife's parents already have a strong business both selling real estate and managing properties for occupants that only live here part of the year (we call them snowbirds in Florida, her family is Canadian and they have a lot of clients from there) and I hope to be able to work with them as a mentor and possibly a partner in the future.

Both my wife and I are still young and I believe that renting to students looking to attend the local university and getting their parents to cosign would be a good strategy as young landlords to both keep our investments occupied and if we get parents to cosign, to reduce our risks.

I look forward to interacting with and learning a lot from this community as I search for my first property and as I continue on in my real estate investing career.
