Yes 3/4 of the rent does cover taxes. I just checked out the property for the first time yesterday so I am still trying to get some estimates together on what the cost of renovating. My wife and I live in her parents basement at the moment so this would be my first bought home as well. We would either move in to the unrented area cause we do want to move out or stay in the basement, rent out both units and continue the search for a place to live. The property at first glance seems like a money make if rented but I still need to get it inspected and do more research. Typically in the area i live in if it is a good deal it is gets swooped up fast :(

I am considering moving to Orlando area for work. what opinion does everyone have on the housing market in the Orlando area? I am looking to purchase homes, do basic renovations, and rent the properties. Is there a good rental market in Orlando for inverters?

I am looking to purhase a 2 family home half of which is currently rented out. I am told the renters enjoy their spot and would like to stay. The second no rented spot is out dated and will ne renovations. This property is a short sale. If i were to purchase it i could live there and have close to 3/4 the mortgage paid for by the current renters. 1.In your opinion do you think this is a smart situation for a first time RE investor? 2. Are multi family homes recommendable for someone first starting to invest in rentals or is it a big jump? 3. If this is a good investment would it be in my best interest to live on site and pay cheap mortgage or try to rent out second half and pay house off way faster?
