It did seem a bit odd, but I'm almost convinced the tenant and owner are related. At first I didn't think I had the owners number, but I completely forgot the number and email was on the application the current tenant emailed to me.

Gave the owner a call, told him who I was. He said he's been doing income taxes, but had printed our apps out and he planned to look at them tomorrow at the latest and would call me then. And told me we were the first to turn apps in, and really appreciated the call from me and showing him interest.

By the way while I'm reading over this post, I can see some people saying it sounds fishy, but the owner sounded very sincere and legit. And I know someone living in the same complex next year.

So my friends and I are in college, and found a townhouse for next year. Three of us put in applications and paid the app fee. We were the first to turn it in. It's been about a week and we haven't heard from the owner, I emailed the tenant who lives there now to see if he heard from him, and he hasn't and were both just waiting now. I'm wondering when most people hear from owners of a house to rent? Any suggestions?
