@Yash Chauhan I know this is an old post and I stumbled on it while researching doing something similar.

Any updates on your project? How did it go? I would love to connect.

@Gurjot Grewal simply to add a little to what everyone already said. Keep in mind, an agent doesn't make a dime throughout this entire process unless you go under contract and actually buy a property and they get pay through commission.

All of this leg work being asked of them and providing you information is great. But at some point in time, it does become a waste of their time. You are new and a lot of this information won't jumpt out at you and it does sound like they're doing their best to provide you sources, but most of this information you best find on your own to analyze if a deal make sense.

Some of the information such as estimating repairs, unless you're a professional contractor, or have been doing this for a long time, it's hard to estimate without a professional. And I'm sure it's been said, but you can't get an inspector or contractor in the house to go through the details before being under contract.

So, it's tough starting out. But keep at it while also keeping in mind everyone's time and energy. Good luck on your journey.

@Andy Kolb could be a non-stop running toilet. I’ve had the misfortune of this incident and the amount of water that was wasted was absurd.

I had the ios app but just lost it after upgrading my phone as well. It's extremely frustrating in this day and age to not think mobile first. No one is tied to their desktop anymore or want to navigate to a website on their mobile device.

This is the first time I'm hearing Zelle charges a fee on money transfer. I've used Zelle for tenants to pay me, and everyday use and never get charged anything.

@Mike B. The story starting with "my wife pressured me to buy my first home" did not end how I thought it would lol.

You have a smart wife. I too, started under similar circumstances, my wife, who was then my girlfriend "encouraged" me to purchase my first home in 2011, best decision I've ever made and we haven't look back since.

I'm not sure I'm adding much value, but I would say, you and your wife sound like you're in sync, best advice is to continue doing what's best for you two.

@Andrew Freed this is a first I've ever heard of doing a background check on a seller. Just learned something new.

@Michael King

Thanks for the clarification. I made my comment without any assumption because I am well aware of TX outrageous property taxes.

It's cool you said you lived in Montgomery county, I currently live here as well, by the mention of your description it's most likely the same place, the Woodlands.

Either way, thanks for your input.

@Bill Brandt

Is taxes and insurance(escrow) included in that $1200/month? He may be factoring those 2 expenses in the $2500/month as the overall monthly cost of the mortgage.
