I am also curious what in particular your management company is adding on as extra service charges. I run a management company in Chico which manages 300 units and offer services in line with @Tim VandenToorn. Your management company should be providing you these services as a part of the management fee, and that fee should be only charged on collected rent. Your contract should outline other items you may be charged for ie whether they up-charge maintenance, add a fee to oversee projects on the property etc. One thing I will add, you can usually expect charges on work done outside of the normal management fee covered items, for instance did you request them to make a special trip out to the property? 

I would discuss the items in question with your manager and then call other companies in your area and discuss their management process and fees. Be careful with companies that charge low management fees but up-charge other services to make up the difference.
