Thank you. I'm new to this and wanted to ask.

It was suggested the I connect with the the Houston REIA (HOUSTON REAL ESTATE INVESTMENT ASSOCIATION) group in my area. So, I signed up and got free tickets to the monthly meeting for this month's Tuesday for me and a guest. They are also gifting me a real estate course after I attend the meeting (worth $229) ... I have never attended one of these and I'm a bit skeptical of the gift and free tickets.

What should I expect? I noticed on the web page they offer memberships. Joining seems like a an opportunity I should take, but other than making connections and meeting other investor, I'm not sure if it's a good idea to spend money joining an association as I'm just starting out and have yet anything to offer.

Any advice?

Hello Chuck,

I'm just getting started. Right now, I'm targeting homes in my home town and near my home in Pearland. I'm in Southern Trails, so there are not many homes except foreclosures. I make a note to wrote down possible homes I see on my way to drop off my daughter a school. I take back roads because of the traffic and have seen some possible locations that look promising.

I'm looking to wholesale to get the in the flow so to speak. I don't know enough on how and what it would take to flip, or rent out a property but I plan to keep hopefully get some properties to flip and rent out.

Any advise you would pass a long would be very welcomed.

Hello all. I'm interested as well. I may not be able to attend on a regular basis at 6 during the week since I have two little ones, but I am more open on the weekends. or later in the evening. Hope to meet you soon.

Ha ha ha. It's fun for a while, but even the prom queens gets dumped every once in a while.

I just started my hello letter campaign. Produced two letters so I can track the effectiveness. I'm hoping to follow up with a post card for my third week contact. Unfortunately my first mailing list was small as I was targeting a specific neighborhood hopping to generate call/interests. I've sense expanded form there to the areas west and across the main road. I'm micro targeting older neighborhoods for now and creating my own list from my home town. I know the area well so that helps. baby steps.

Hello Everyone, just got started on new journey in real-estate investing. I launched my first campaign and planning for my second. I come from an advertising background as a Creative Director in corporate america. It was fun and exciting, but then turned out to be like the hot girl in school that only likes you for your car. So I'm heading in a new direction.

I'm in the Pearland, Texas area and wanting to connect with others, either on here or at meet-ups around town. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope to connect with you.
