I'm a college student and I'll be graduating in two years. What should I do with the money I am earning right now in internships if I plan to begin investing in real estate as soon as possible after graduation (whether that's house hacking or traditional rental)?

For context, my parents are willing to loan me the full amount for my down payment. Should I go with that loan, contribute the money I am earning now to a ROTH IRA & index funds, but pay interest later on when paying back the down payment loan. Or should I continue saving my own money to borrow less/nothing at all for a down payment, but have inflation eat away at it for 2 years?

I guess much of this depends on what the inflation rate will be and what my parents will ask for an interest rate. Am I missing anything? Open to all suggestions. Thanks.

Looking for a plumber ASAP. I have a rental property that we suspect has a broken drain pipe. The unit below ours is experiencing leaking from the ceiling. I'm looking for someone who can open up the ceiling to check and fixes any necessary parts. Looking for someone who can come today, as soon as possible. Property is located in South Weymouth near South Shore Hospital. Can you guys recommend anyone? Thanks a bunch.

@Julie Hartman thanks Julie. It’s a line of droplets across their ceiling in the bathroom, so not too serious. I thought I heard somewhere that in these situations it’s up to their Insurance, especially because it’s not yet clear whose pipe it is, so it’s good to hear that from you. Thanks a bunch

My parents have an apartment rental and recently the unit below noticed a leak from the ceiling (unclear at the moment whose pipe). In this case, who is responsible and for what? Does the other owner need to contact the insurance company? This is in Mass. if that is important. Thanks guys.

Hey all,

I'm trying to get a better understanding of the acquisition process. If you have a list of properties, how would you pursue the acquisition? What techniques do you guys implement during conversations with the owners/sellers?

Thanks so much,

Henry

Will this be happening this month on 4/14?

@Paul Moore I enjoyed the reading that article. Thanks so much for you help!

Thank you Benjamin and Charles for the advice

Hi everyone,

I've been immersing myself in this real estate atmosphere for a while and I want to take the next step and begin interacting with people in the field. I'm thinking about going to local open houses and talking with agents to both learn more about what they do and learn more about the market as it pertains to investing. What are some good questions I can ask them? I'm not looking for any "gotcha" questions, as I'm not looking for an agent to work with necessarily, but questions that will help me develop a better understanding of this field.

Thank you all so much for your help,

Henry
