Thanks for replies. I'm new to this, does anyone have recommendations for best HELOC HELOAN providers?

Following to stay up to date, great insights on this post. Thanks for sharing your journey and good luck!

Hey Heidi, welcome to BiggerPockets! You're in the right place to learn more about real estate investing. Can't wait to see you grow.

Are you planning to invest locally in NC, or are you open to invest out-of-state? I am always down to talk about real estate investing in Columbus, Ohio. I can share insights on investing on both single and multifamily properties, including out-of-state investing. I started off with a duplex in 2020 and now have a solid portfolio of rentals with my partner.

Let me know how I can help!

Hey Min, thanks for the connection! Currently, I have been looking in NC. I am not too familiar with how purchasing IP in other states work. Currently, I have been using my VA loan. However, I have enough equity in my first property to be able to potentially HELOC and use as a downpayment for another investment property. I am not savvy yet in knowing how much I should have saved to take that leap. I am also about to hit my one year mark in my primary residence- so potentially looking into HELOC-ing this property as well (in the future). I would love to expand to different states but I would need to do more research as far as specs. I would love to pick your brain. Thank you!

Welcome! I am in the Charlotte area and am very guilty of adding too many properties to the wishlist haha

Thank you! Oh nice, you're not too far. I am located in Moore County. Do you look at properties in NC or elsewhere? I want to look at properties in different states but feel a little anxious about being so far away from the property. Thanks for connecting :)

Hi Heidi!

Welcome to BiggerPockets! I'm also guilty of adding to the wishlist on Zillow😅

What type of residencies and where? 👀 I’m always curious about different areas and markets. Thanks for connecting.
  • 🌎 Hi friends, I am originally from AZ but reside in NC. I currently own two homes in NC. One is an investment property and the other my primary residence. I hope to expand my portfolio with single family homes.
  • 💫 My next goal would be to purchase another single family this year (I wish the interest rates would drop a smidge), if unable to then continue saving until "the time is right". Additionally, to network and learn from those who have more experience.
  • 🏠 I have been interested in real estate investing since I got out of the military ~4 years ago. Let's be real, I have always spent my free time dreaming and adding to my Wishlist on Zillow. There was some time in my childhood where we didn't have a lot of resources, I am grateful that my mom would take me out on drives just to dream build at some of our favorite areas in AZ. She helped and still helps me keep the dream alive.
