Ah!  I didn't realize you had to be colleagues before you could send messages to someone.  That clears it up!  Thanks so much, @Mindy Jensen!

Hey BP Nation!  Total newbie question... How do I send private messages?  I was able to send one the other day, from someone's profile, that had a "contact me" link on it, but now any time I type someone's name in the "new message" window, it resets itself...

I see the note that I can only send messages to one user at a time until I upgrade, but does that actually mean I can only have one active message thread at any given time?  I figured it meant I couldn't address multiple users in one message.

Thanks for your help!

@Aamir Shah -- thanks for asking the question!  So much great insight coming out of it.

@James Kojo - extra Kudos for the epic educational answer.

@Mark Boek - I saw your marketplace post tonight!  That's a super exciting possibility.  My honey and I are still, I'd guess, 3-6 weeks away from ready to pull the trigger on our first property, but that looks a lot like what we're looking for.   I just got myself on your mailing list via your website.

Hey James!  I don't have any financing-specific advice for you, but I did want to give you kudos for identifying your limiting belief and reaching out to update it.  Those things aren't easy to do.  I look forward to hearing about your inevitable success, with those psychological tools at work!

Thank you all for your input!

I'm sitting over here with my notebook, and a tub of popcorn... we've been trying to answer the out-of-state property LLC question for ourselves, and I love seeing the diverse opinions fly!!

I really appreciate the additional perspectives to consider.

@James Wise - Thanks for the welcome! I'm stoked to go check out your podcast episode.

@Yong Park- Thanks for the welcome! I look forward to reading about your successes on the forums, as we learn together!

@Krystle Padilla - That's a fascinating possibility!  Thanks so much for mentioning it.  PM'ing you.

@Joseph M. - Nice to meet you!  Yeah, the whole westside is bonkers.  Walked by a newly reno'ed duplex in a medium sketchy part of Venice the other day... only $4million! :O

@Bryan Pham - Thanks for the welcome!  As a Berkeley grad, enjoy that East Bay food!! :-)

@Manolo D. Thanks so much for asking, and thinking of connecting me with a business buyer.  Aw man, if only I knew of this place, and posted about it months ago...

For now, it's being sold in parts, to the employees who helped me build it.  After a lot of agonizing consideration, that emerged as the right solution for us.

@Account Closed  - Hi neighbor!  Thanks for the input!  For now, we've got a great rent-controlled little pad that's too great to give up to go the househacking route.  We're talking about a future move out of state, and we'd love to do a live-in small multifamily, when that time comes.  I'd love to hear about your progress with the LA purchase, let's keep in touch!

@Jeb Brilliant Thanks for the heads up for the Saturday meetings, and also the TK exits.  I'll be sure to make sure questions about that are on my list to ask potential providers, before going that route!

See you on an upcoming 2nd Saturday!

@Ciprian L. - Yeah, we were first looking at C-neighborhood SFRs with a Turnkey company in Kansas City, it sounded amazing. Now that I've learned from BP about budgeting for CapEx, and the extra maintenance expenses at turn time with mid to lower grade neighborhoods, it's looking like the risks might quickly eat through the first-glance returns. If we do end up out of state, which I'm still drawn to, I'd really love to find a provider who includes those lines in their pro-formas.
