Welcome to the site!! It's great you are getting into the world of real estate. Where are you looking to invest? Out in Los Angeles, or do you have other areas in mind? Once you have those areas tacked down, then you can start to study those areas to be the person that knows the areas the best and feel the most conformable when a deal comes into those areas!

Good luck and if you need any help, feel free to reach out to the BP nation!

Thanks Peter! I was originally looking at areas in Los Angeles or the Inland Empire, but after listening to many podcasts and reading blogs and forum posts, I'm reading up on out-of-state investing to see if it's something I want to do. Are you currently investing, and if so, are you doing so in Southern California, or other areas?

Thanks John! I see you're in Sierra Madre, do you invest locally or out of state? My wife and I have been thinking about investing in the Inland Empire, but after reading about out of state investing, I'm reading more and more about that.

Thanks Manolo! Unfortunately I'm busy today but would definitely like to start going to meetups or other investor meetings. Where was this one scheduled, and where and when would the next one be?

Thanks Logan! I see you're a CPA, are you in public practice or in industry? I used to be in audit but now do consulting. Are you still in the Los Angeles area, if not necessarily in the SGV?

Hi everyone,

I’m a new member here from the San Gabriel Valley suburbs of Los Angeles. My wife and I have been talking about getting into real estate investing, and I found BP on Google. I’ve been reading the blogs and listening to the podcasts every day, and can’t stop myself sometimes from wanting to read or listen to the next one. Recently, my BP app notified me that I was an addict because I had logged in so much, so I decided to actively join the community and say hello!

Right now, I’m focusing on learning as much theory as I can, and am starting to develop my goals and plans. I’m leaning towards buy and hold as far as strategies go, but I love learning about others’ experiences with all the other strategies as well. The more and more I learn, the more excited I get about taking the plunge.

I look forward to hearing from you and progressing on my journey!

Cheers,

Hector
