Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I think that sounds like a pretty good lead to follow. I will continue to do my own research, too. If I find anything interesting, I will be sure to share it. I will check out that book, too.

I am not surprise anymore about the tech that's coming out. It is crazy what's being built. In fact, I find myself thinking why are we still doing anything manually anymore? :-) I saw a robot that can paint house interiors on "The Gadget Man" on Netflix. He also created a gadget for hanging wallpaper. I'd love an exterior house painting drone robot (since I live in a two story that needs to be painted currently!) We already have robots to vacuum the floor and mow the lawn, too. I can't wait until my first drone delivery from Amazon.

Thanks, again.

@William Nelson I searched for Brownsville TX today on BP and your post seems to be the most recent. I heard of that town today and am wondering about it. I, too, am in CA and looking to do long distance investing. Do you mind sharing why you choose that location? I heard Elon Musk is investing there. Is there something coming there soon that makes this place good? Thanks for any info you may have.

@clayton smith thanks for your detailed post! I'm really trying to figure out how to do something very similar in college towns near me and in the states where I want to invest.

Quick question - how did you draw the plans yourself? Do you have experience in design or architecture? Did you find some software to help you out?

Thanks, again, for sharing your story. Very interesting. Very helpful!

Hi Jenefer. Nice to meet you. I finally got connected with an agent in my area this week. I am hoping for some pointers from him (contractors, property management, etc.) Meetup is a good suggestion, too. Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestion. I will do some looking into customer relationship management (CRM) software and see what I can find. I'm also just wanting to track all the different steps in the process of acquiring and managing multiple places.

Hey BP. I'm wondering what software or programs people like to use as a REI. I used to be in sales and used Salesforce.com. Is there something similar that is geared towards tracking leads and opportunities in the real estate realm? Also, what property management software do people like? Thanks!

What a great thread! I love fishing with my 16-year-old son. Best hobby I've ever had. Well, actually, I used to salsa dance with I was younger. That was pretty fun! @bonnie low I'd love to hear more about your nutrition business. I'm learning a ton about how important good foods are for people with chronic problems (autoimmune stuff).

I really relate to @ujwal velagapudi about having a love of learning. I'm loving all that I'm learning on BP. I'm reading Rich Dad, Poor Dad for the first time right now, too. I've heard about this book for years, and never took the time to read it!

Nice to meet you, Adam. Tell me about your business. I'm pretty new to this investing stuff. I want to find a place that I can fix up a bit or add onto to gain more equity. I'm wondering about construction costs. Do you have any expertise on this?

@Jason Ma wow! Great story! Thanks for sharing. Glad it is working out. I am so new at this I didn’t realize there could be such a difference in appraisals. That’s so good to know!
