Hi, Troy,

I can't help answer your questions, but I want to say "Hello" because I just closed on our primary residence in Morris County yesterday. We will be looking for an agent to help us with real estate investing once we get settled.

Hello, and welcome!

Cassie

Hi, Bill ~

I know a little about Bergen. My husband owns a music school in Westchester County and has been researching locations in Bergen to open another one. We thought we were going to move to Bergen, so we researched lots of the cities. We ended up putting an offer on a house in Morris because it was slightly closer to my parents in Warren County. We have a 14-month-old, so the more help we can get, the better!

It's very nice to "meet" you!

Hi! I'm also from northern NJ; grew up in Warren County and moving to Morris County at the end of this month from Westchester County, NY.

I'm very new, so I can't offer much advice. Just wanted to say hello to a fellow BP member from the same area :-)

Great question; I am a newbie myself. I wasn't aware of laws, so now I know to look out for that. Thank you, Randy, for posting the question...and, thank you, Bill, for responding!

I could not agree more!! My husband and I listen to them during any down time we get. I just finished #15 this morning on my run! We are playing catch-up. I love how they offer practical advice from every day people, not theoretical guidelines from the massively rich! We are super new, so we are learning the language and things to look out for as we get going. We love them and highly recommend them to our business-minded friends!

Hi, Kenneth - thanks for letting me know about your wife. It will be great to have an agent to contact once we are ready to make a move (we hope to before the end of the year!)....

Brandon - the podcasts are great! We just made a 90-minute trip and listened to episode 12 or 13 (Leon's podcast) on the trip. We just found the podcast and BP, so we have some catching up to do! They are awesome for us because they give us an idea of the language and things to look up and consider. Thanks for the articles! And, I followed the steps of the automatic email we receive when we sign up, so my keyword alerts are set!

Sam (my husband) signed up yesterday but did not receive the emails I received. We are still trying to get him set up (I know what I did but not where I did it!).

I have to say how pleasantly surprised I am at how welcoming this community has been in just a few short hours! Thank you to everyone who warmly welcomed me.

Abdul R.: Thank you so much. We currently live in Westchester County, NY but are hoping to move to NJ in the next few months.

Paul Timmins: Thank you for your response. We will definitely keep you in mind as we begin to get a direction in real estate investing.

Pete Nater: That sounds like a great plan! Thank you for your generous offer.

Hi, James!

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the reminder about the profile picture! I actually uploaded one moments before I sent this new topic; it said that the picture loaded successfully but might take a few moments to show up. So, if it doesn't show up by tomorrow, I'll try again.

I just downloaded the book you recommended; I heard about it on one of the BP podcasts. My husband found it and then hooked me up with it as well. He will probably be joining the community within the next few days as well.

As soon as I know what I don't know (which I know is a LOT), I will be sure to contact the BP community. Once the baby goes to bed (HA, I should say, "IF the baby goes to bed...!"), I plan to start looking around and reading up on the information on BP.

Thanks again!
Cassie

Hi, BP community ~

I'm a recently NY-licensed clinical psychologist specializing in children, adolescents, and families. Although I've spent the majority of my life pursuing higher education and training, as soon as our son was born last year, I knew I wanted to be a full-time stay-at-home mom (despite the horrified looks and comments from family, friends, and professionals who provided support during my education). My husband is a successful business owner who approached me with ideas about real estate investing. Once I picked my jaw up off of the floor and actually listened to what he was saying and read his resources, I was sold.

We are both relatively young (30 years old) and have not been involved with real estate. We want to start now so that we can eventually have the time wealth to spend with our son (and hopefully future children).

We haven't decided on an area in which to focus; we are in the "information gathering" stages of real estate investing. We listen to BP podcasts while we are walking our dog, working out, taking showers, cleaning the house, etc. etc.!

Thank you for taking the time to read this,

Cassie
