@Paul M Feehan

Thanks Paul. Definitely makes sense given it’s one property where we’re living in as well.

We don’t have a lease yet or anything established (not planning on renting out until late 2021).

We do question was more along the lines of expanding the business to manage more properties, and how to go about screening candidates and streamlining processes. As a rookie reading some of Brandon’s books, one piece of advice is to not have the tenant get used to you knocking on their door for rent which definitely is something I’d want to avoid as well.

Thanks

Hi Everyone,

We are in the process of converting the property we live in (originally single family home) to a 2 family house, with the intent of renting out the second unit.

We plan on managing the property ourselves but want to be sure we have a thorough process and system in place for collecting rent, sending out reminders, etc.

Do you typically set up a business for such a structure in order to set up all of these processes under the business name, or is it equally efficient to do it as an individual?

Thanks

What are some cities and states you are all looking into for future investments in the coming year? I’ve been hearing some cities in Texas and Florida.

The NY area prices are very high so I think a dollar will go further in one of these states. What has it been like investing in other states as a NY resident?
