Your in Washington DC. Are you hiring for any positions that could be filled with inexperienced but very ambitious, energetic, and hungry youth?

Make yourself useful to some investors and you may be able to learn very quickly.

This is certainly not the only path toward real estate investing. Spend some time reading the threads here and look at the backgrounds of those who post. You will find quite a variety. I doubt if there are many professions or occupations that aren't represented. Me, I started my professional career as a nuclear pharmacist, probably not the most common path. Real estate has been my primary source of income for quite a while.

 Thanks for the reply !

If I was the mentor here, I'd suggest making Jay Hinrichs the escrow agent, send the money to him, and make it refundable after the first deal closes. ;)

Do you think it would be worth it to pay 1500 dollars to speed up the learning process with this guy or am I better off learning from here and REI meetings?

I am a new 21 year old investor who is eager to learn. However, I know that jobs take most of your time. What is the best 'Real Estate Job' where I can get paid, and still be learning and growing in Real Estate Investing ? I have heard that being a Real Estate Agent is a different mentality than hanging around investors.

I have a guy who responded to my ad who said that he would like to be my Real Estate Mentor. He told me he is a 50 year old millionaire from CA and he has fourteen students. He usually has one student in every area and he needs his first one in Washington DC (which would be me). He says my job is to simply Identify, Qualify, and Package and he would use all his money and resources to close. It would be a Wholesaling mentor ship and I would do the legwork and he would negotiate and use his resources to close. He would use his first three weeks to teach me and he says he charges 1500 just to weed out all of the people who are playing around. He said I wouldn't get paid until 35 to 65 days when the first estimated wholesale deal is done. We would share the profits 50/50. Then he said usually in six months time it is not uncommon to be doing four wholesale deals a month equaling over 20,000 dollars a month. One weird thing he said was that he doesn't use Paypal or Credit Card for the 1500 dollar payment so I do have concern that me may just disappear after the 1500 dollars paid. I am only 21 and 1500 dollars is a lot to me right now. What do you guys think about this? Is this a good decision?

Hi !

I'm 21 years old and new here to BiggerPockets and also new to Real Estate Investing. I want to use Real Estate as an avenue in building wealth ! I know its not always easy or get rich quick scheme. I have one question, I really do dream of one day being on of the top 1% Real Estate Investors in the country. I only see myself there if I outwork everyone and if I am constantly surrounded by people in the same field. I know that often hours put in helps those chances. But I have a 9-5 that wastes so much of my time. I want to start either entry level or any position that can surround me with Real Estate Investors and/or like minded people. What would be a 'Real Estate Job' that I could apply for ? I know people sometimes work as Real Estate Agents, but I have heard that Agents often never invest and have very little investing knowledge. In your opinion, what 9-5 can I have to help achieve my goals ?

Thanks in advance !
