Hi Everyone, my name is Dan from Brooklyn, New York. After several weeks of scouring posts and forums; I finally jumped in and went Pro. I've been going through some of the beginner guides and forums. Lots of good information!

I co-purchased a small 3-family property with a friend a few years ago in BedStuy (Bedford Stuyvesant) Brooklyn - back when it was somewhat affordable. It was my first jump into multifamily investing. I really wish I was able to purchase another property in the area sooner. Now, it's pretty much impossible to find anything in the area where the numbers work. So we're trying to find another property in the next up-and-coming BedStuy and Bushwick areas quickly before they come-up and prices shoot out of reach. Trying to get reliable information from some RE agents has been tricky. Some of them seem to be sketchy or sometimes just completely untrustworthy. No offense to any Agents on BP :)

I am hoping to learn a lot here from the guides, forums, podcasts, etc. I am combing through the forums searching for local REI clubs / meetups in the New York City area. I'd love to connect with other BP members (not salesmen) who are knowledgeable in the Brooklyn and Queens markets to discuss investments.

Long term - I would love to also invest in countries like Costa Rica, Ecuador, etc. before they also become too expensive. But for now, local is best while I learn the ropes. Thanks for your time.
