Getting out of the military and moving to Charleston SC at the beginning of December, would love to know if anyone on here has experience in the area investing, selling or managing property.

I do not know you Mr. Heness, but I already trust you more than I trust the government. So I would say yes it's a good idea if you find the right deal.
