@Kyle Mccaw I do aim for long-term rentals, air bnb was just something i was considering. However, I did want to purchase a duplex and live in one unit or rent the other side out so my expenses would be low. However, with high property tax, the expenses are still a bit high. Even if i just rent both sides out, it doesn't seem like the best deal.

@Kyle Mccaw I came by and looked around the area. But living and experiencing would be much better. But with my situation, I am unable to do so at the moment.

@Andrew Postell great insight.

I appreciate the information. Are there good areas you would recommend for investments?

@Andrew Postell thank you for the great information.

I visited last week and realized the same thing. That there are very few multifamily homes. I would even buy a single family for invest too, however it doesn't seem to create good profit(at least if it's turn-key). I also realized most homes are new, so I am guessing there is not much flipping opportunity either?

Hello everyone,

So I am currently living in NY and considering moving to Fort worth Texas. However, I am uncertain about the time frame, but my ideal situation would be finding a duplex or triplex in a C to B class neighborhood and living with low to no money out of pocket for monthly expenses. However, the property taxes are very high and I would like to know from fellow investors and real estate agents about the market and if house hacking is possible with a profit? Also, is there flipping opportunities in fort worth area? What strategies work great in this area? And finally, would it be better to have Airbnb or long-term tenants?

Thank You

@Connor O'Brien Thanks a lot for the neighborhood information. Do you believe it's a great location for investment as far as cash flow as well as appriciation. I see it is growing and developing, yet some parts are bad as well. I was wondering if the risk is worth the investment?

@Austen Mueller Thanks for the reply. I ran my own numbers, overall everything looks great. I am just worried about the neigbhood and tenant.
