Post: Hints on Italy

Hey Silvia, thanks so much for being here! As other replies to your post, we are also looking into purchasing a property in Italy this summer. We plan to rent it out over the summer (managed), and stay there in the winter months. For now we centered on Trapea, Scalea, and Sicily, simply bc they’re on the “list” for popular tourist destinations, and are in the (max) 250K range. Some advertisers say if you buy from them, they will manage your property for 10%. Do you have any insight into potential income, management fees, etc?

Thanks again!

Hello fellow investors: we are planning (for the first time) to sell 2 properties in the next 2 months, and mostly pay off other ones with it. My CPA said that the IRS will add the full sale price to our income to produce the rate it will be taxed at (15 or 20 % on capital gains). Anyone’s heard this before? I can’t find it on IRS.gov.. thanks a million!!
