Hi Tim, So actually nothing was passed. We had a great turnout of property owners at the meeting opposed to the measure and they wanted to give those people time to speak....so the meeting went until 1 am or something crazy late like that. ...and then! they punted it again. To July.

It's become such a saga because they just keep punting the decision. However, you are right that they stopped issuing permits, but I haven't heard if it's all or type 2. If I hear, I will post again. What is a big unknown here is what the state legislature will/can do if metro does pass this, but they ended up wrapping their session doing nothing....yet. This is definitely confusing but the state is actually more progressive in this situation...not the usual for our state. Interesting, for sure. What is more interesting to me, beyond the property rights argument, is why a city with our hotel and short term housing problems would want to eliminate an option that helps all of those things. Either way, this fight is not even close to over and I don't see it being over for a long while.
