Remember Carlton Sheets? Well, whatever everyone may think of him (and I'm sure there are many thoughts) he planted the seed in my mind more than 20 years ago that investing in real estate is a great idea.

Since then, I've played with the idea now and then but always felt like that's something "other people" do. This is usually followed by a long list of other reasons I shouldn't or can't be involved in this business. I'm no longer listening to that voice.

This is partially due to discovering that a friend of mine, after investing in mobile homes on the side for a few years while he worked his regular 9-5 was able to "take a package" and go full time with investing rather that submit to the whims of the big corporate brother. That was a shock. He escaped. It wasn't easy and I know he works hard networking, finding properties and making deals but he's still 'off the plantation' and from my perspective... it looks incredible

So, now that my wife and I are ready to move out of our current home the landlord/investor bug has reared it's head again and we are trying to understand how we can maintain control of this property and acquire a new one to fix up and live in and hopefully repeat that process.

From there, I'm not sure it will go. One step at a time. But I am excited that I'm verge of planting, growing and nurturing a seed that was planted more than two decades ago.

Thanks for the platform that makes this possible BP.
