Thanks for reaching out! We made it out ok but we also lost a little bit... Since we don't have money tied up in Real Estate there though, we feel we are part of the lucky ones... :-) We chose to relocate in Costa Rica partly for its long, stable democratic history! ;-) Lesson learned! Good luck with your assets in SJDS...

Maybe we will see you down in Tamarindo some day!

Ahahah! You lost me there... I think I am too old for that Crypto Currency thing... :-) I kind of know what it is, but really have no idea how it works... I am at that age where I am starting to fall behind on all the new technologies... I used to be pretty good, even did a bit programing when I was younger in the 90s, but now I am still trying to figure out Whatsapp! LOL

That sounds like a great plan, I hope you can realise it sometime :-)

We really don't know what we will be doing yet, we are learning about our area (Tamarindo), reaching out to other investors in the area and seeing what is possible with the cash that we have... We are in our late 40s - early 50s and have no income so we need to make that money work for us & we need cashflow... 

We don't want to rely only on tourism for our investements... We saw what happened in Nicaragua when our motorcycle rental business tanked in 6 weeks after the conflict started between the government and the students... So we need to diversify in that sense. 

We are taking our time & exploring our options...

Hello Everyone, 

I am a Canadian who bought and held a few rental properties in the Vancouver, BC (Canada) market. I lived in Nicaragua for 6 years where I ran, along with my husband, a very successful motorcycle rental business for many years. Due to the unstable political situation in Nicaragua, we have left and closed our business a few months ago & now live in Costa Rica (Tamarindo). 

My husband & I just liquidated some of our assets in the Vancouver, BC market & want to invest here in Costa Rica. We would love to connect with other investors of all types (flippers, wholesalers,  buy & hold, etc...) & hopefully be part of a community of investors who support & help each other or even do business together. 

I feel as though I can't bring much to the table in terms of Real Estate knowledge at the moment, being new in this area, but I speak 3 languages: French as my 1st language, English as my 2nd & Spanish (not perfectly) as my 3rd & after living 6 years in Nicaragua and successfully running a business, I have learned a lot about living & doing business in Central America... & maybe most importantly, we have cash & we want to invest.

My husband & I are eager to learn & would love to connect with other investors in Costa Rica.
