There's not many forums on investing in storage units. So I would like to start one with the little knowledge I have. I'm active duty navy and I get out honorably in 9 months. I am most definitely investing in my own facility. Wether it's buying land and building or taking over a previously owned facility. Curious on how once the purchase or construction is done, how rough is it starting off considering vacancy? Would like to hear the start up process. I know advertisement as well as marketing comes into play. But just would like to know the start up process once completed. As well as like the monthly payments on the loan. I know y'all would have to see numbers and such forth. But an example of yalls facility numbers would help out a lot to be used as an example. Greg Thompson

I have plenty of money saved up as well as my down payment. But I would be using my VA loan which makes it a low interest purchase. I have no partners. It's just me.

I'm looking at starting small with a duplex. I have about 20 grand to put down. Willing for purchase price to be from 85k to about 120k. I own a house right now as well. So experience I know is from buying my house and I also purchased the books from bigger pockets. I appreciate all of yalls help! I'm deployed right now so I'm kind of on a pause with purchasing. But any tips would be awesome. When I find a duplex I am definatly going to have everything expected to a T. I'm also curious on what other expenses throughout the year I would have

Funny. I'm actually from Corpus Christi Texas! I'm deployed right now and when I get back to gulfport Mississippi I plan on being super motivated. Could you perhaps give me some numbers to punch in the calculator. Like I said I'm new so I would like to know the guess you could say cost of operations.

I own a home that I spent 130,000 on that is occupied with my wife and 2 kids including me. I am extremely motivated to invest in a multifamily real estate. like I said any advice and or way of using math to calculate the profits and such forth. I am enlisted in the navy as a Seabee, a construction force. so majority of the property management will be done by myself.
