@Michael Ealy

As someone who is about to buy their first rental property I stopped myself because of this very dilemma you presented. I then got thinking, why don’t I be the bank and do private lending? Do you believe private lending is more passive? Listen to some pitches from investors, vet them out, then Sit back and collect my $ every few months?

@Tyler S.

Hi brother, new to BP and I live in Tarpon Springs. I’m a realtor and hungry to learn more about being a private lender. Can you direct me to anyone? Have you been to any meet up groups locally around here? Thanks for any and all feedback my friend!

Hi friends, I am brand new to BP. I inherited some $ from my mother who passed away. Being a private money lender AKA the bank for an investors is extremely appealing to me. My questions are what resources do you recommend I use to best educate and protect myself from investors? I have a few investors reaching out to me to do business with, but I don’t personally know them and I’m naturally cautious because I want to make sure any deals I do are clean and that I’ll receive my initial deposit and profit in return. Please enlighten me to private lending 101 for a newbie. Thanks!!

@Brie Schmidt thank you for this cautionary tale, bringing awareness and being vulnerable. I personally appreciate this because I inherited some $ from my mom who passed away and I want to be a private lender. I’m reading everything I can to make sure I thoroughly protect myself. So thank you for sharing. Glad you got $ back!

Greetings friends! I have a one year old daughter and fatherhood is the greatest invention of all time (minus the first two months of zero sleep :). In my limited free time I love to kayak, weight lift, cheer on the Tampa Bay Lightning and I'm a scarred Washington Redskins fan. I'm a big fan of mindset and I'm always looking for ways to be the best version of myself. I'm huge on/super nerdy about goal setting and very intentional about how I spend my time. I'm always listening to podcasts because I have such a hunger for knowledge.

I'm a licensed real estate agent and a Middle School Physical Education teacher. My free time is extremely limited because of fatherhood so it's very hard to be the heavily involved realtor that my clients deserve. I recently finished reading BP's The Book on Rental Property Investing. My desire in the next 0-6 months is to invest my $ as a private $ lender because it's uber passive which compliments my lifestyle these days. In a year or two I would love to diversify and become a buy and hold rental property investor.
