@Cody Stephens

Have you moved forward on a property on Lake LBJ. If so, do you have any recommendations for realtors or property managers?

I’m just getting started looking at LBJ and looking for some rockstars in the area to navigate neighborhoods that allow STRs and analyze deals.

Thanks

@Jeff Martinez

I do believe that any title transfer in PA incurs transfer fees. I just looked into transferring title of my Mom's place to either a trust or a relative, and either would incur a transfer tax, so I'd guess a trader to an LLC would,too.

I work in the construction industry and am currently working on an out of town project that will last at least two more years. I spend a week or two a month at the out of town location and I'll get reimbursed for living expenses while out of town. I plan on buying and staying in a single family while there, with another part time co-worker housmate, and then renting it when the project wraps up. Any thoughts on structuring the deal as an LLC vs owning outright? Also, thoughts on maintenance/repair issues that may come up while I'm out of town and the unit may be vacant? Will this qualify for a principal residence loan rate, or will it get treated as a rental property regarding a loan? Any other thoughts/advice would be appreciated.

If you mean HQ2, which would be a headquarters, it would be huge since most techie jobs pay >$100k. I'm in the Austin area, and they haven't made a run at it yet. To answer the question, depending on the market, the $100-$250k range seems correct, but in some of the higher cost markets, the higher end may be close. It depends on the starting $/sq ft.

New to Bigger Pocket online but have been listening to podcasts for a while.  I completed your survey.  Let us know when you've compiled the results.

Thanks
