@Jeremy Galloway I grew up in Helena, so I can imagine thats a solid place to invest with the way its been growing over the past few years.

Hey guys,

So I have been looking for my first BRRRR deal or my first flip, whichever makes the most sense with the deal I find. Currently, I believe I have found a solid deal that would be good for either strategy but Im gun shy since it would be my first deal ever. I was wondering if there would be anyone willing to look it over with me and see if I was on the right track and see if it was a deal they would do that has more experience than I do. It is located in the Midfield/Brighton area of Birmingham which isnt the greatest. So if anyone suggests that I do not invest in this area then that would be well appreciated as well. Thanks!

Thank you @Ray Lai. I was actually discussing DM with my girlfriend last night and seeing if that was something we should start with. I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas on how to get one started so I can avoid some mistakes Im sure a lot of new investors make!

Yeah I think the crestline/crestwood/Avondale area would be a great place to invest. It seems like it’s up and coming and a lot of younger professionals seem to be flocking to the area. Also south of Birmingham in the Helena, Pelham, alabaster area may be a solid way to go as well. What do you think about those areas?

Hey guys,

Im a new investor in the Birmingham area interested in flipping or the BRRRR strategy. Thought I would come on here and see if there were any wholesalers or anyone that has a property theyd like to sell. Send me a note if you have something, thanks!

@Rob Drum thanks for the info! I have been to one of those groups meetings before but will definitely check out a few of the other ones as well. Do you know of any good wholesalers in the Birmingham area that i could use to try and get my first deal closed? Im just trying to use every avenue i can to find potential homes. Thanks!

Thanks @Rob Drum. Yeah I am looking for my first flip deal or considering the BRRR route. Whichever presents itself to me first is the route I will take on my first deal. I feel like I am having a hard time finding decent deals though. I have a real state agent that sends me all listings in the area I am looking in from the MLS but not one seems like a decent deal. Are there better ways to find my first deal? I read about direct mail but I wanted to have more experience before I went knocking doors down. Are investment groups a good place to start?
