Hello BP,

I am closing on my first multifamily unit and I am looking for advise on some thing I can do in order to make the transition smoother as I will be self managing this property.

Do anyone have any types of checklist or recommendations on certain systems that should be in place by time closing takes place. Also this unit already had tenants any recommendations on how to initiate first contact with them ( by letter, knock at the door, phone call) ?

@Andrew B. Thank for the advise. I don’t plan on putting anyone in a hardship position. Everyone is on month to month now until the closing date then I plan to get long term leases

What’s up BP! I need your advise. I’m buying an investment property that has tenants in each unit. However after reviewing the tenants current leases and the current rent market value for the area I found the tenants are paying at $200 below normal rent in the area. What is the best way to increase the rents. And is there anything I should know or do before making the change?
