@Charles M.

Really appreciate the perspective here and congratulations on the success so far. This is exactly what came to mind as I was discussing the cost of the class with one of the programs potential mentors (or salesperson if that is your view).

Essentially posed the question that would it not be more beneficial for a complete novice like myself to deploy that $35-$45k into actually acquiring a property and learning that way versus paying for the program. Understand the perspective of the networking potentially worth much more than the sticker price as well depending on a varying perspective.

That said, completely agree with your point that actually finding a property & getting it under contract is the most difficult part and understandably the most intimating potential "barrier" to a beginner like myself.

All-in-all agree with your perspective and believe I may forgo the mentorship/education program to deploy this capital in more productive means - as well as begin developing relationships with local agents/brokers to hopefully begin developing a network naturally.

 Thank you again for your great insight and good luck with everything!

@Chris Levarek Thank you very much for the quick reply and insight here. Keyword searching the program now and have found at least one small thread regarding it.

Agreed as well that the network/mentorship aspect is the true "value" in the price tag. That said, for this program in my opinion it seems rather vague how often you had access to a "mentor" and strength/reach of the network. Will definitely need to reflect on the perceived value in the price.

Thanks again for your insight here and good luck with anything you are working on!

Hi All,

Hope all is well and apologies in advance if this topic has been covered into redundancy.

Wanted to see if anyone could provide advice/insight into educational mentorship programs (particularly virtual in nature)? Either from past experiences with courses or opinions on the value.

This program is stated to provide individual support/mentoring, sales training, underwriting and structuring training with access to live events (networking / other educational courses). Essentially access to live team members who can support you in the deal construction as well as potentially introducing you to sponsors and other network members to partner with.

The cost of the program is ~$35-$40k.

Understandably, the mentorship/network areas are the most valuable here, but wanted to gauge thoughts on the ~$40k capital commitment here as that ~$40k is easily capital for a down payment.

For additional context, I have not made a real estate investment prior, but do have capital sat aside to do so - which is why I wanted to reach out to seasoned investors to receive input on whether you believe it may be better to hold onto the capital to ultimately deploy into an investment and/or look for a local mentor who might be more hands on and may sponsor as well?

Thank you very much advice for any commentary here as I am just starting out in the space!

Best,

Grant
