Post: Investing with partner - Tax advantages

Hello all, I have never invested with a partner before but looking at possibly doing it in the near future. I have lots of questions on how it would work, we agreed we would go 50/50 split all expenses. If we invest in a 2-4 unit property I would live in one unit and we would rent out the other units. We are both hoping to reduce our taxes this year as we paid a lot in taxes last year. How would this work with writing off depreciation for both of our taxes? Any other advice you may have for investing with partners I would love to hear!

Would like to hear what everyone’s opinion on painting every time a tenant moves out for an LTR. It doesn’t “need” new paint but I’m curious if I should get in the habit to paint every time to freshen it up for the next tenant!

When starting off is it fine to work with multiple real estate agents to find deals ? Also how do I go about telling them I’m working with multiple agents so it doesn’t detour them off. Where can I find agents to really help me out with my search?

@Jason D. Thanks a lot! Yeah only 19 and my parents are willing to help out. Now I don’t know much about an equality loan so are there any downsides for my parents ?

@Jason D. Perfect just wasn’t sure if that could work! Can I also use the equality loan to pay for rehab also?

Hello, I’m 19 and am wanting to start flipping houses. I have 20k saved up and just not sure where a safe place to start would be.
