@Russell Brazil What are your thoughts on Frederick? My initial research on deal potential has been looking bleak, but I am new to this.

@Andrew Michael - I'm currently working at 84 Lumber. Not a full blown homebuilder per say, but we "install" the bulk of our projects. Almost all of my work is around Bethesda and NoVa. 

Dan Ryan and Wormald are the two big names in Frederick new construction, very few small builders in the area (there might be a good reason for this). I live in Frederick, so I would like my projects to be local, but I know there is a goldmine of potential within a 25-mile radius.

My criteria at the moment isn't too specific, at the moment I'm still trying to get financing together. Lenders aren't too eager to give out money to "young, inexperienced" guys like me for new construction... Flipping may have to be my starting point.

My name is Graham Gedman, soon-to-be investor in the Frederick MD area. I’ve been lurking this site and listening to the podcasts for a while now, and I’m pretty close to being ready to get my feet wet…

My ultimate goal is to start my own homebuilding business (it’s what I’m doing now, but for a large company). There’s not much talk about new construction projects on this site, but I think it fits in perfectly with everything else I’m reading about. I’m spinning circles trying to get everything worked out to start a homebuilding business, but Bigger Pockets is certainly helping.
