are you taxed less if you are single with no kids and buy a 2 story propety. one apartment for me and one for rent?

right now I am looking into buying and renting for starters.
i work fulltime in IT, but why not make extra cash:)
then eventually I would like to rehab and sell.
What do you mean by wholesaling?

If I were to do this, I would buy the houses and gift them a face lift
and of course invest all the money from property too property!

I am new and just trying to learn about real estate!

In my area the houses are worth around $275,000 average, if i buy my first home, fix it then sell it in 3 years and continue doing the same thing for five houses. Will I pay off my home faster?
