Don't forget to get a permit for the windows.  Even if your're changing them size for size.   If the permit is through Lee County you will need a General Contractor to get the permit.  Cape Coral, Village of Estero, City of Ft. Myers, Bonita, etc you don't need a GC to get the permit.

Cape Coral is a great place to buy also.  Be careful buying here, several customers have had issues with buying properties and then getting citations for fences and enclosed lanais that weren't permitted.  There is a simple resolution, but it does cost money.  It's an "after-the-fact" permit.

Hi Joe Fairless.  Well, hurricane shutters cover opening and protect from hurricane winds up to 160 mph.  There are clear panels, 24 gauge metal panels, accordions, roll downs (electric and manual) and screens.

Sam, sorry to hear the company left you 34 keys for 34 accordions.  Companies can easily and should key all the locks to the same key.

Hi all! :)  I'm new to forums and blogs so please have patience with me.  Growing up in TX my late father always taught me to share your knowledge to help others.  With this in mind, I have tons of "permitting" knowledge (are you getting fines from the city or county on a property you purchased and can a permit take care of that?) and "hurricane shutters" knowledge.  Ask away if you have questions.
