Post: Mold removal services

Tenant noticed some mold around 1 window and the door to attic. Having a hard time deciding between a regular cleaning service and a full service mold remediation company. Seems like too much for a cleaning service and not extensive enough for a mold remediation company. The mold remediation companies I've contacted (Tallahassee, FL) have quoted me $700+ to survey the home and create a detailed report however I'm not sure the home cleaning services will actually remove the mold well enough to keep it from coming back. Would appreciate any feedback on those who have faced a similar issue.

It sounds like the wall is on the property line. Talk to the owner and HOA and get permission to deal with it. Is it a common wall?


Planning to talk to owner. No HOA for the community. It is a shared wall between the units

@Theresa Harris thank you for your response. Once the siding is repaired, I intend to have the neighbor come up with a solution to divert the water away from my siding. Reason I'm asking is I am relatively new to REI and want to make sure I am not overstepping my bounds or being unreasonable by expecting the neighbor to assume the cost of repairs

@Kim Meredith Hampton neither. It is a townhome community where the units are essentially duplex-style. Two townhomes sharing a wall in the middle. No HOA

Run off from neighbors roof is causing wood siding on my townhome to rot. Who's responsibility is it to repair the damaged siding?

I have a single family home LTR available. I've had several qualified applicants reach out with one wanting an 18 month lease. Sounds great to me but I want to make sure there aren't any logistics issues I may run into with having an 18 month lease. Are there any downsides to this?
